Happy Canada Day!

It is July 1st, and thus a happy "Canada Day" to all our friends and relatives north of the border. Have a great day enjoying time off from work, the great outdoors, and just being with your families. We'll be thinking of you all, and wishing we were there with you! Eh?

Spruce Street Update

We haven't posted Spruce Street update for a while, mostly because work has been slowing down as we near completion of the rennovations. We're finally getting the house ready to rent and just need some dry weather so we can take care of some pealing exterior paint before we put up the "For Rent" sign.

The current favorite on our CD player is an unlikely choice. Each day we've been listening to the latest CD of banjo tunes written by Steve Martin (yes, that Steve Martin...). Take a listen, and we defy you not to tap your toes. A rare gem, and totally unexpected. Does this man know no limits!

Visit from Kerry

Kerry has arrived from Nederland, CO for a long weekend in Connecticut. She has received a good dose of Port Townsend (or English?) weather, so far . We are still hoping for some sun for trips to the beach, drinks on the deck and walks to the local attractions. We did manage the latter, with a brief visit from the sun on Friday evening, Bruno's Mojito's and a trip to the Cool Breeze Farm. Kerry got to meet Esther and Linda, the goats, and we ran in to Mark and Frodo along the way.

Sheri Turned 42

We have been busy with travel for work and behind on updates at HHR. We did squeeze in a quick birthday celebration for Sheri that included dinner with the Panoksy's.

America's Dairy Land

This week Sheri traveled back to Wisconsin to attend the Land O Lakes Conference at Devil's Head Resort, north of Madison, WI. The weather was spectacular, making it necessary to hike around the Devil's Lake and a nearby valley carved out by glaciers on the afternoon we had "off". The terrain typifies the rolling hills that make Central Wisconsin so beautiful. What a great place to learn some science, catch up with friends like Danni (in photo), George Zografi, and Julie in Madison (from the Brown house days). She even had a chance to sneak in late afternoon at the terrace at UW.
