We wrapped up the last day of March with an evening walk to the Cool Breeze Farm with clear skies, warm temperatures, and a sense of greenness we haven't seen for a while. The cows were smiling and Esther's crocus' were smiling at us from here front yard.
Meanwhile, we are enjoying an Amaryllis in full bloom indoors while we await the daffodil display outdoors. The cats continue to hunker down, as they are still not convinced it is spring.
A seed update will follow soon!

Happy Birthday Bruno
We are celebrating Bruno's birthday at home with plans to start our seeds, get out in the sunshine for a walk with Kokee, maybe a trip to the town dump (we really know how to party), followed by dinner with gooseberry tart (gooseberries from the garden!) for dinner. Join us for birthday tart if you are in the neighborhood.
Many thanks to all for the cards, phone calls and jolly gifts!

March Produce!
The ground is starting to soften and with a gentle tug we were able to harvest a carrot, a parsnip and two leeks that "wintered" in our raised beds. Not quite a face of produce, however, the carrot smelled and tasted better than the woody orange things we have been buying in the shops.

March Tune of the Month
We've been dying to share this with you since Christmas when we got hold of this CD from the "Sacred Shakers". Every tune on this disc will have you tapping your toes, and its all music that your mom (and your priest) would approve of.
Don't forget to go Amazon and order a copy today :-)

March Musical Moment
This week we made the short drive to Waterbury to the Palace Theater. Our destination was a concert promoted by our local public radio station. We enjoyed an evening of traditional folk music with "Peter, Paul and Mary" and left the event singing along to some very melodic tunes and meaningful lyrics. Check out the link below to see them in their prime (and for a little piece of american musical history).

Riding and gliding
We managed to arrive in Vermont ahead of a few inches of fresh snow, followed by a window of sunny skies and cool temperatures. We enjoyed some great riding and excellent gliding. As Gene always says "always be on the right side (up north) of the storm". Although, Gene and Kathy were on the wrong side of the storm, they still arrived in time enjoy the benefits of some fresh snow.

Blog from a bunkbed in Vermont
We arrived in Vermont over the weekend for brief winter vacation. We stopped on the way at our favorite grocery store for essential provisions, including local New England cheeses! That and the new iPod seemed to make the trip fly by! As we look out snow is falling lightly, and we are luxuriating in our beds drinking tea waiting for the lifts to open.
