Bruno's 48th birthday

Yesterday (Saturday) was Bruno's 48th birthday.  He celebrated with a few outdoor jobs and with the return of Sheri (and Kokee) from their latest trip to the mid-west to re-locate Jerry closer to family.

The outdoor work consisted of moving half-a-dozen enormous logs that had been left behind when the electric company came to our street in December cutting trees that were too close to the power lines.  The biggest tree (an oak tree) was nearly 4ft across at the base and the mess left behind was considerable.  In the process of removing the tree some of our stone walls suffered quite a bit of damage.  With the help of neighbor Mark and his tractor all the logs were moved out of the way and the biggest rocks were placed next to the wall for a re-building party later in the year.

In the evening Mark and Jen took us to the new Broad Street Bistro in Pawcatuck.  It was busy (and loud!), but we had a very nice evening.  After dinner we went back to Mark and Jen's place for a more peaceful dessert of homemade Bourbon Cake and ice-cream.  It was delicious!

Thanks to all of you who sent greetings via the post, email and Facebook.  It is very much appreciated!
