Kerry Shamblin Fashions

My sister Kerry honored my 40th birthday with a beautiful custom made shirt she made from a family heirloom linen table cloth. The sleeves have beautiful detail and it fits perfectly, which is a tribute to her talent since she is on the other side of the country with a view of the Peuget Sound from her sewing machine. You can see her handywork at http://kerryshamblin.com/.

We just returned from a whirlwind trip to Pittsburgh, PA and Keyser, WV to visit with Sheri's Dad and Mimi. We enjoyed the scenic views of Southwestern PA, a trip to the Church Breworks in Pittsburgh for Father's Day (a brewpub in a church, http://www.churchbrew.com/), a nice visit with Mimi (Sheri's grandmother) and the traditional Keyser, WV activity of feeding the ducks in new creek. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed the quick visits with Jerry and Mimi.

Update on the Deck

Sunday was a glorious day giving Bruno the chance to make progress on the deck. Sheri spent Sunday reigning in the garden (and weeds) which have gone wild with all the rain. Kokee had a rough weekend too!

We have also been enjoying some great salads!

Iceland 2007

We have just returned from a trip to Iceland to attend the Molecules, Materials and Medicines conference in Reykjavik Iceland. It is an amazing place and we had a little time to explore the lava fields, glaciers, geysirs, thermal pools and waterfalls. The landscape is dramatic, the air is clean and fresh (and cold!), the people friendly and very interesting.
